Prof. Zhang Xing, the dean of Department of Pesticide at College of Plant Protection，Northwest A&F University, currently serves as the Director of Research & Development Center of Biorational Pesticide, Biorational Pesticide Engineer Technique Research Center of Shaanxi, and Agricultural Pest Pollution-free Control Technique Innovation Center of Chinese Agriculture Ministry.

　　Prof. Zhang Xing graduated from the College of Plant Protection in Northwest Agriculture University in 1974 and got M.A. and Ph.D. from South China Agricultural University in 1982, 1988, studying under the direction of Academician Zhao Shanhuan. He bacame a teacher in Northwest A&F University in 1989, mainly engaged in Insect Toxicology and Plant Protection.

　　Prof. Zhang Xing devoted himself to the study of biorational Pesticide. Since 1989, he had undertaken over100 projects, including National "Ninth Five-Year" scientific and technological projects, National "Tenth Five-Year" scientific and technological projects, National "Tenth Five-Year" scientific and technological major projects, ‘863’ Project, National Innovation Fund, Transformation Fund Programs, ‘948’ Project, National Natural Science Foundation, Provincial-Class Projects, etc.. As a result, 19 of the completed projects had passed the achievement appraisal by government. Moreover, 64 patents of National Invention and the utility model had been successfully applied. Furthermore, 38 patents had obtained certificates and authored over 500 articles.

　　Elected as Department-class Excellent Teacher by Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China in 1985.

　　Conferred Young and Middle-aged Prominent Contribution Expert honor by Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China in 1995.

　　Elected as the Candidate of National Millions of Qualified Personnel Project in the second level in 1996.

　　Elected as the Candidate of ‘Three Fives’ Project of Shaanxi in the first level in 1997.

　　Conferred National-class Young and Middle-aged Prominent Contribution Expert honor in 1999.

　　Conferred the honor of ‘Ten Inventors in Shaanxi’ by Shaanxi Intellectual Property and Shaanxi Provincial Department of Personnel in October 2002, on the top of the list.

　　Conferred the honor of National Excellent Agriculture Scientist by Chinese Agronomy in January 2004.

　　Conferred the honor of National Excellent Scientist by China Association for Science and Technology in January 2005.

　　Elected as Shaanxi Provincial Prestigious Teacher in June 2006.
